Business Development Representative – Southern California (Full Time, Temporary)

We are looking for a full-time, temporary and exempt Business Development Representative based in Southern California to join our current Southern California Team from approximately mid-September through early February. This position’s main goal is to drive revenue in an assigned territory and to build and develop relationships yielding business agreements with universities, colleges, accounting firms, professional societies, and companies. The ideal Business Development Representative must be an excellent relationship builder, understand business development fundamentals and possess a blend of organizational prowess, a razor-sharp eye for detail and a genuinely social, outgoing personality.

Responsibilities 
  • Identify, qualify, prospect and create new innovative marketing strategies to build customer base and grow revenue in an assigned territory
  • Responsible for meeting event metrics including attending meetings and presentations with identified universities and clients
  • Build relationships and interact with key industry decision makers at universities, colleges, accounting firms, professional organizations, and companies
  • Support and maintain existing accounts while continuing to expand market presence and build new business
  • Schedule, organize and deliver CPA Exam and other technical presentations at assigned college campuses and accounting firms
  • Hire, train, and support student representatives who will promote Roger CPA Review on their campus
  • Seek out and attend industry events such as university accounting career fairs, networking events, CPA Exam trainings at firms, and other events
  • Develop and execute individualized marketing strategies within each campus and firm in designated territory
  • Conduct market research and report findings to marketing management
  • Utilize internet social networking sites to reach audiences and promote the course
  • Collaborate with Management and other Business Development Representatives on a variety of special projects
Requirements 
  • Bachelor’s Degree (mandatory)
  • 1-2+ years of Business Development and/or Sales & Marketing, preferably in the CPA Review, Accounting Industry or Education Industry          
  • Excellent interpersonal (both verbal and written) communication skills; excellent command of grammar, spelling and composition
  • Comfortable interacting with potential clients in person, on the telephone and over email
  • Excellent public speaking skills and confidence when pitching products and services
  • Excellent business judgment, effective at articulating value propositions to customers
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and work independently
  • Ability to work in teams to develop strategies and action plans, and to share results
  • Excellent team player, and ability to shift priorities, demonstrate flexibility, coordinate multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines
  • High energy level and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to attend marketing events on nights/weekends when needed
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet research
  • Upbeat, outgoing personality
  • A car (mileage reimbursement at established company rate) and ability to travel throughout assigned region for events (and sometimes nationally)
