It is important to build a relationship with recruiters. This relationship building will allow them the opportunity to get to know you as a candidate and will help you stand out in comparison to other candidates who did not establish a memorable impression. You can do this in the following ways:
- Ask questions that display interest in them and the firm. Make sure to listen attentively to their responses so that follow up questions are not asking something they already answered.
- If you attend an event with many representatives from a firm, then make sure to talk to employees on all levels to understand what it will be like to work at that firm/company.
- Sell yourself. They are evaluating you as much as you are evaluating them.
