Education Requirements

Credit Requirements: 150 semester units (225 quarter units)

Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate with 150 semester units

Additional Requirements: At least 24 semester units of graduate or undergraduate level accounting courses and 24 semester units of general business courses. Of the accounting units, at least one course must be taken in each of the following: intermediate or advanced accounting, auditing, taxation, and cost accounting. The 24 business hours may not include extra accounting hours

Residency Requirements

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required

Minimum Age: None

Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state. May sit for exam 100 days before graduation

Social Security Requirement: Optional

Educational Requirement: 150 hours including Bachelor's Degree

Participates in International Exam Program: No

Experience Requirements: 1 year experience (or 2000 hours) gained through employment in government, industry, academia, or public practice. A CPA responsible for performance of attest services shall have 375 hours of any combination of auditing, compilation, or review. Experience must be completed within 3 years of passing the CPA exam

Ethics Exam: Must pass AICPA Professional Ethics Exam
