Education Requirements

Credit Requirements: 150 semester units (225 quarter units)

Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate with 150 semester units

Additional Requirements: At least 150 semester hours of college education including a baccalaureate or higher degree conferred by a college or university acceptable to the board, the total educational program to include an accounting concentration of 24 semester credits or equivalent of accounting education (not to include principles or equivalent), plus 24 credits of other business courses or equivalent. You may sit for the exam prior to reaching 150 units but will need to complete your education within six months of your exam application date

Residency Requirements

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required

Minimum Age: None

Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state

Social Security Requirement: Yes

Educational Requirement: 150 Semester hours including Bachelor's Degree

Participates in International Exam Program: Yes

Experience Requirements: 1 year of experience gained through employment in government, industry, academia, or public accounting

Ethics Exam: Must pass AICPA Professional Ethics Exam
