Education Requirements

Credit Requirements: 120 semester units

Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate

Additional Requirements: Must include courses in financial accounting, cost or managerial accounting, taxation, and auditing

Residency Requirements

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required

Minimum Age: 21

Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state

Social Security Requirement: No

Educational Requirement: 150 semester hours (including Bachelor's Degree) with 33 hours in accounting, including accounting research, and 36 hours in business, including communications and ethics and responsibilities

Participates in International Exam Program: No

Experience Requirements: 1 year part- or full-time work experience completed before, during, or after the CPA Exam. Must involve skills in accounting, attest, compilation, management advisory, financial advisory, tax or consulting services under the supervision of a licensed CPA or public accountant in NY State

Ethics Exam: None
