Mississippi CPA Requirements

Education Requirements

Credit Requirements: 150 semester units (225 quarter units)

Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate with accounting concentration and 150 semester units

Additional Requirements: 24 semester hours or equivalent quarter hours in upper level or graduate level accounting (3 hours each must be in financial accounting, auditing, taxation, management/cost accounting, and government/not-for-profit accounting)

Residency Requirements

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required

Minimum Age: None

Additional Requirements: Candidate must be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state, except when proctored by another jurisdiction.

Social Security Requirement: Yes

Educational Requirement: 150 Semester hours including Bachelor's Degree

Participates in International Exam Program: No

Experience Requirements: 1 year general experience of accounting and auditing skills, excluding academia
