Education Requirements

Credit Requirements: None. 21 semester units in accounting, auditing or federal taxation

Minimum Degree: Associates degree

Additional Requirements: 24 semester or equivalent quarter hours in accounting 

Residency Requirements

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship not required

Minimum Age: None

Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state

Social Security Requirement: Yes

Educational Requirement: 150 hours including Bachelor's Degree

Participates in International Exam Program: No

Experience Requirements: 1 year accounting experience as an employee of a firm engaged in public accountancy or as an accountant in government, industry, academia, or public practice

Ethics Exam: Must pass AICPA Professional Ethics Exam
