Education Requirements

Credit Requirements: 120 semester units (180 quarter units)

Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate degree in Accounting

Additional Requirements: If degree is not in accounting, must complete 3 semester hours in auditing, 21 hours in financial accounting and accounting theory, managerial accounting, accounting systems and controls, US federal taxation, and government accounting

Must also have completed 24 semester hours in general business subjects

Residency Requirements

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required

Minimum Age: None

Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state

Social Security Requirement: Yes

Educational Requirement: 150 Semester hours (including Bachelor's Degree)

Participates in International Exam Program: Yes

Experience Requirements: 2,000 hours of work experience gained through employment in government, industry, academia, or public practice, submitted to LARA for approval

Ethics Exam: None
