CPA Exam Requirements
Education Requirements
Credit Requirements: 120 semester units (180 quarter units)
Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate degree
Additional Requirements: 24 semester hours or equivalent quarter hours in accounting, including at least one course of each of the following: financial accounting, auditing, taxation, and management accounting
Residency Requirements
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required
Minimum Age: None
Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state
License Requirements
Social Security Requirement: Yes
Educational Requirement: 150 Semester hours (including Bachelor's Degree)
Participates in International Exam Program: Yes
Experience Requirements: 1 year experience in more than one employment situation (includes internships) in government industry, academia, or public accounting or 2 years experience for attest CPA which includes 1 year of attest and year of general experience
Ethics Exam: Must pass AICPA Professional Ethics Exam
