A Q&A with Matt Boronkay, Marketing Analyst at Roger CPA Review
What do you do at Roger CPA Review?
I’m the guy who sends you all of those emails that you’re so fond of seeing in your inbox every week! Additionally, I’m responsible for analyzing the online patterns of our potential and current students to ensure that everyone enjoys their experience with Roger CPA Review. My position also makes it necessary to work with every division of the Roger CPA Review team, ranging from our customer care team to our campus field representatives, an opportunity that I sincerely enjoy!
What’s your favorite thing about working at Roger CPA Review?
As strange as this may sound, my job itself is my favorite part of working here at Roger CPA Review. Some of my colleagues may know that I’m a huge poker playing and puzzle-building enthusiast. Both hobbies require me to take pieces (literal and figurative) and create something new. My job is just that. I take pieces of information and string them all together to draw conclusions, which I use to help my coworkers and our students.
How does your current position influence what you’re passionate about?
As much as I love flaunting my tough outer exterior, I’m a gooey humanitarian at heart. This role enables me to dive into the minds of our students and discover the best possible solutions for them to succeed in pursuing their dreams towards a CPA License. I love being able to help others accomplish their goals, and I feel that my position puts me in the driver’s seat to do just that.
Who has impacted you most in your life and how?
Going to go with the classic, my parents! They’ve always guided me in everything I’ve pursued and I wouldn’t be here in this position today if not for them. Also, throwing a shout-out to my lovely girlfriend for her continued support and encouragement.
If you could go back in time and do one thing over, what would it be and why?
I would go back to last week and play the lottery knowing the winning numbers, because you know….riches. Then with those riches, I would contribute towards world peace or something meaningful like I should have originally done while going back in time.
If you could offer one piece of career (or life) advice to recent college graduates, what would it be?
I remember wasting so much time comparing myself to others or worrying about landing the perfect job straight out of school. In hindsight, that was all wasted energy and I wish someone would have just said: ‘Stop worrying, you’re going to be just fine’. That’s what I would and regularly tell recent college graduates.
What is your favorite quote or mantra?
“Start at the beginning, and when you come to the end, stop.” – The Mad Hatter & March Hare
How do you plan to enjoy the rest of the summer?
Summer is nearly dead and Winter Is Coming! I’m most definitely at peak happiness with my hoodie on and a light drizzle outside. I will miss Giants baseball, but there’s an even year on the horizon…
