It’s July 1, 2016, and that means that the new Task-Based Simulation (TBS) question type called Document Review Simulation (DRS) will officially be on the CPA Exam beginning today.
In December 2015, the AICPA announced that DRSs will appear on the AUD, FAR, and REG sections of the CPA Exam in order to reflect the type of work newly licensed CPAs will be expected to perform. DRSs will test application, analysis, and/or evaluation skills of candidates’ abilities to review realistic documents and related source documents to discern what’s important and what’s not important for solving a particular problem.
In order to get all CPA Exam candidates up to speed in regards to this new TBS, we’ve compiled a list of resources about Document Review Simulations that will help you understand what it is, why they’re being added, and how they will be tested. Make sure you learn everything you need to know to be prepared for this new question type!
