After a full weekend of studying and studying every night during the week, I have viewed the entire video course. Ill be taking BEC in a little over a week and then hopefully I will be done with the CPA exam and become a CPA. Ive wanted to be a CPA since high school and it is hard to believe that I am almost there. As someone who has been there and almost done that, there are a lot of things that I would have done differently. Being close to my goal has made me reflect on the process.
First of all, I am very pleased with the order that I have taken the sections in: FAR, AUD, REG & BEC. My memory may be a bit skewed because of the gaps between my exams but I do believe that BEC has the most overlap of all of the exams so it makes the perfect finale. Which brings me to my next point: although it is very possible to get back on track (as I have over and over again) you arent doing yourself any favors by waiting. I took my time with my bachelors degree and then waited to get my masters degree and then waited even longer to start sitting for the CPA. If you are able to, dont wait. Studying for the CPA would have been a lot easier if I had started right after school and if I had taken the exams closer to one another. I am constantly telling myself while studying, I know that I learned this before. Fortunately, I have had the Roger CPA Review course to steer me on the right track and I wouldnt have it any other way.
My advice to anyone thinking about taking the CPA is to stop thinking and start doing!
