Why are there score holds on the CPA Exam?

The AICPA must gather performance data for CPA candidates taking the 2018 CPA Exam to properly assess and score the updated Exam. According to the AICPA, “CPA Exam scoring is treated with a high level of importance, due diligence, and attention to accuracy. [CPA Candidates’] responses to questions go through multiple quality assurance reviews to ensure scoring accuracy.”

Will there be CPA Exam score holds in 2019?

Even with the extensive Tax Reform changes in store for the REG Exam, the AICPA is not yet certain if there will be CPA Exam score holds in 2019. However, the AICPA is doing everything possible to avoid further score release holds. Keep checking our CPA Exam Score Release page for any new updates or announcements.
