Twas the Night Before Testing
Adapted by Roger CPA Review
Twas the night before testing, when all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, except for Jim Clouse,
His books were laid out by his computer with care
In hopes that hed learn what he needed for FAR.
His wife was nestled all snug in their bed,
While visions of a CPA bonus danced in her head.
And Jim in his PJs, coffee at bay,
Had just settled in for a long night and day.
When on his computer arose such a clatter!
He hit Ctrl+alt+delete to see what was the matter.
To Microsoft windows, he flew in a flash
Turned out his computer, had all but crashed!
He looked out the window with new-fallen snow
Reminded that time was ticking, 5 hours to go!
When, what to his wondering eyes should appear
A little green elf and his bag full of gear!
With a 10-key calculator, all worn with use
Jim knew in a moment that this was good news!
Its the CPA elf who helps desperate souls
Prepare for their exams and reach CPA goals!
On Leases, on Earnings, on Government Accounting!
On Partnerships, on Pensions, on Financial Reporting!
To Multiple choice questions and seven simulations in all
Well study, well study, well study them all!
And then, in a twinkling, the elf disappeared,
His hat, his boots, and his little-elf beard.
The very next moment, he appeared on Jims table,
With a glimmer and gleam like out of a fable.
He was dressed in khaki, from his head to his foot,
And his hair was combed over, gelled to stay put.
His bag full of study notes he had flung on his back,
He looked like a Tax Accountant, receipts in the black.
Hi eyes how they twinkled! Rimmed in thick glasses,
For back in the day he taught CPA Classes.
His droll little mouth spouted tax laws and such,
He could go on forever, cause there is so much!
The stump of a highlighter he held tight in his hand
Its bright ink ready for what studying would demand
From late nights and pizza he had a round belly,
That shook when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, but smart as a whip,
Knowing why he was here, Jim started to skip!
With a wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Jim knew right away he had nothing to dread.
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
Tweaking and tonking, all while with a smirk.
He fixed Jims computer, supplied study notes and more!
The exam parts were all there one, two, three and four!
Jim could study again! 75 he would beat!
All thanks to the CPA Elf who did a great feat.
Jim heard him exclaim, as he turned in a flash,
Good luck on your exams, and if you study, you will pass!
