Education Requirements

Credit Requirements: 150 semester units (225 quarter units) needed for certification, but not needed to sit for the exam.

Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate degree.

Additional Requirements: Degree with major in a subject other than accounting. Must have 18 semester units of upper division accounting. Must meet minimum educational requirements at time of application or expect to meet them within 120 days from date NTS is printed. Minimum of 24 semester units in upper division accounting courses and 24 semester units in upper division non-accounting business courses needed for certification

Residency Requirements

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is not required.

Minimum Age: 18

Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state.
