Supplier Diversity

We embrace diversity as an absolutely vital component to the growth of our business – providing comprehensive services involving and related to the Uniform CPA Exam – in our client, supplier, and employee base. By annually granting full and partial review course scholarships to dozens of undergraduate accounting students and diversity-focused organizations; by partnering with national professional organizations; by executing supplier diversity initiatives; and by retaining a diverse staff, we incorporate our diversity policy in all that we undertake.

Vision
We aim to expand our business opportunities by fortifying our partnerships with ethnic minority, women, small, disabled, LGBT, and veteran-owned enterprises as valuable competitive assets.

Expectations
When evaluating potential suppliers, we look for the following characteristics:

  • Offer competitive, market-appropriate prices
  • Maintain the financial stability to produce and deliver products and services according to contractual agreements
  • Provide outstanding service at all times

About our Supplier Diversity Program

Roger Philipp CPA Review actively supports and cultivates supplier diversity. Our supplier diversity program is aimed to ally our corporation with other businesses defined as diverse suppliers, according to the classifications outlined by the U.S. Small Business Administration and/or the National Minority Supplier Development Council. At least 35% of our existing suppliers meet the criteria for supplier diversity certification by the NMSDC.

In working with local, regional, national, and international suppliers, Roger Philipp CPA Review cements its status as a globally-minded entity. A fair proportion of our suppliers are small, privately-held businesses as well as larger, publicly-traded corporations. We not only embrace the traditional minority classifications of Asian-Indian, Asian-Pacific, Black, Hispanic/Latino, and Native American in our supplier diversity program, but we also reinforce our commitment to maintaining and growing a diverse supplier base by actively seeking out woman, veteran, disabled, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender-owned suppliers.

We adhered to the definition of diversity-owned business enterprise as a for-profit enterprise, regardless of size, physically located in the United States or its trust territories, which is owned, operated and controlled by diversity group members. "Diversity group members" are United States citizens who are African-American, Hispanic American, Native American, Asian-Pacific American, Asian Indian American, as well as women, disabled, veteran, service-disabled veteran, lesbian gay, bisexual or transgender. Ownership by diverse individuals means the business is at least fifty-one percent (51%) owned by such individuals. For a publicly-owned business, at least fifty-one percent (51%) of the stock must be owned by one or more such individuals. Those minority group members must also control the management and daily operations.

Supplier Diversity Initiatives

Personal Ethics

As a small, minority-owned business itself, Roger Philipp CPA Review holds an immense personal investment in the successful implementation of supplier diversity principles and practices. As we grow, so do our suppliers – as well as those who depend upon us as a supplier of comprehensive CPA Review services. Our initiatives are informed largely by our own experiences. Because we participate in all aspects of the supplier diversity service model, we believe that we possess an unparalleled advantage in evaluating and advancing supplier diversity.

Strategic Alliances
Our top management executives form alliances with many of our key suppliers to review and encourage their own partnerships with diverse businesses around them. This initiative promotes our goal – to develop diverse supplier growth on as many levels as possible.

Employee Awareness
Employees of the San Francisco headquarters are required to not only participate in but also lead formal diversity workshops. Additionally, Roger Philipp CPA Review sponsors a variety of on- and off-schedule events, such as company outings to important cultural events throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and the greater Los Angeles area, in order to supplement the professional and personal lives of team members. We also keep our employees connected through our involvement in industry conferences and meetings.

External Outreach
Whenever possible, Roger Philipp CPA Review engages in and leads external awareness programs on new strategies and initiatives that promote alliances with small business. We immerse ourselves in our markets by sponsoring events and scholarships, as well as collaborating with student and professional organization leadership. Programs include, but are not limited to: workshops geared toward multilingual professionals for whom English is a secondary language; VITA training and participation; active participation within diversity-focused groups and associations (such as National Association of Black Accountants, National Association of Women Accountants, Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting, Latino Business Professionals – among others); promoting volunteer income tax assistance initiatives; one-on-one supplier interviews; and various industry events held at national and regional levels.
