Education Requirements

Credit Requirements: 150 semester units (225 quarter units) needed for certification, but not needed to sit for the exam.

Minimum Degree: Baccalaureate degree

Additional Requirements: Degree with concentration in accounting and minimum of 15 semester units in accounting or 1 year of public accounting experience. Individual is considered qualified to take the exam if they have met or are within 18 semester credit hours of meeting the undergraduate educational requirements and have completed at least 15 semester units of accounting subjects.

Residency Requirements

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship not required

Minimum Age: 19

Additional Requirements: It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state.
