The requirements listed below relate only to eligibility to sit for and take the Uniform CPA Examination in the State of Kentucky.

To be eligible to take the Certified Public Accountant examination or reexamination the applicant must possess the following qualifications:

Education Requirements

Hours required to sit for the exam
150 semester hours (225 quarter hours) required for certification but not needed to sit for the exam.

Minimum degree required:

Baccalaureate degree

Additional Requirements:

30 semester hours in accounting courses and

27 semester hours in other business related courses.

Residency Requirements

U.S. Citizenship is not required

Minimum age: 18

It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state. However, candidate must have a Kentucky mailing address.
