The requirements listed below relate only to eligibility to sit for and take the Uniform CPA Examination in the State of Georgia.

To be eligible to take the Certified Public Accountant examination or reexamination the applicant must possess the following qualifications:

Education Requirements

Hours required to sit for the exam
150 semester hours (225 quarter hours) needed for certification, but not needed to sit for the exam

Minimum degree required:

Baccalaureate degree

Additional Requirements:
30 semester hours of accounting subjects (above introductory level) and 24 semester hours in general business subjects.

Residency Requirements

U.S. Citizenship is not required

Minimum age: 18

It is not neccessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state.
