The requirements listed below relate only to eligibility to sit for and take the Uniform CPA Examination in the State of Florida.

To be eligible to take the Certified Public Accountant examination or reexamination the applicant must possess the following qualifications:

Education Requirements

Hours required to sit for the exam
150 semester hours (225 quarter hours)

Minimum degree required:

Baccalaureate degree (with accounting concentration, plus 30 semester hours)

Additional Requirements:
36 semester hours in accounting (above introductory level) and 39 hours of general business courses, including a minimum of 6 semester hours in business law.

Residency Requirements

U.S. Citizenship is not required

Minimum age: none

It is not neccessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state.
