The requirements listed below relate only to eligibility to sit for and take the Uniform CPA Examination in the State of Arizona.

To be eligible to take the Certified Public Accountant examination or reexamination the applicant must possess the following qualifications:

Education Requirements

Hours required to sit for the exam
150 semester hours (225 quarter hours) needed for certification, but not needed to sit for the exam

Minimum degree required:

Baccalaureate degree

Additional Requirements:

24 semester hours (36 quarter hours) of accounting, including 12 hours in intermediate or advanced accounting and 18 semester hours of related courses

To attain certification, candidate must complete a minimum of 36 semester hours (54 quarter hours) in accounting courses, at least 30 of which must be upper level, and at least 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of related courses

 

 

Residency Requirements

U.S. Citizenship not required

Minimum age: 18

It is not necessary to be a resident, employee, or keep office(s) in the state.
